VS provided construction inspection for the 1.8 mile segment of Dupont Road from Lima Road to Coldwater Road for the City of Fort Wayne. The goal of this project was to add travel lanes to Dupont Road due to increased traffic congestion in the area. This project included separation of an at-grade crossing of the Pufferbelly Trail with Dupont Road. The separation included raising the roadway profile, adding a pedestrian tunnel, and adding MSE walls. The project also included installation of new streetlights and upgraded traffic signals at two locations.

The project included the installation of a new water main for the entire project length. Included in the final project were new curbs and curb ramps, as well as a new sidewalk, a recreational trail, landscaped medians and driveway approaches (ADA standards). The project required significant coordination with the local businesses and Homeowner’s Associations, including weekly construction updates and attending association meetings. VS staff were made constantly available to project officials and the public throughout all construction phases to address any questions or concerns relating to the project.
